Choose your platform

There is no single best platform for everyone. The right choice depends on what you can do, how much time you have, and which countries and payment methods are accepted.

Check the country and payment first

Before creating an account, check that the platform accepts your country and pays through a method you can receive (PayPal, Payoneer, bank transfer). Each MissionMonde platform page shows access from Africa, payment methods and the withdrawal threshold.

No particular skill: micro-tasks

Surveys, tests, data annotation: no degree or experience needed, but low earnings, a few dollars a day at first. It is a way to get familiar with online payments, not a main income.

With a skill: freelance marketplaces

Writing, translation, design, video editing, development. On Fiverr or ComeUp, you publish a fixed-price service and the client comes to you. On Freelancer, Workana or Upwork, you apply to projects posted by clients.

For a French-speaking audience, ComeUp and Codeur.com are a good fit; Codeur.com requires a paid subscription to reply to clients.

With experience: long contracts and remote jobs

Experienced technical profiles can aim for contracts lasting several months: Andela and Gebeya are built for African talent.

Remote job sites post salaried positions, but many are limited to certain countries: look for “worldwide” or the list of countries on each listing.

Traps to avoid

  • Paying for a “starter kit” or mandatory training to access missions: it is a sign of a scam.
  • Using a VPN or a fake address to access a platform closed to your country: account closed and earnings lost.
  • Signing up everywhere at once: one or two complete, active profiles are worth more than ten empty ones.
